Great place for pie but I think their food is decent too. Glad to see they are open later on Thursday to Saturday now. If you want a whole pie make sure to call in a day ahead of time. Definitely don't skip the pie though! Highly recommend the coconut cream pie.

My son and I stopped in this morning for the first time for his birthday. Immediately I felt so calm and welcomed. It’s such a cute diner I was really impressed. I didn’t catch my servers name but she was AMAZING. Very attentive and personable. Food was delicious and GREAT portions. 5/5 will definitely be back :)

Excellent diner; delicious soup, tasty sausage gravy, and the cinnamon bread toast was amazing. Very fair prices, no doubt why this diner has been around for over 70 years!

I had not been here in almost 30 years. Glad I stopped in. Food was great and so was the service and other people there. We will be going back to eat more often. I had the grilled chicken skillet and it was delicious!!! Prices are great!!!

Our 1st time here this morning for breakfast. My chicken fried steak and american fries were perfect! Pancakes look wonderful (too much food, will try them tomorrow). My husband had the farmers skillet and loved it! Food came out fast and there was no bill to pay - Santa bought our breakfast! We knew no one there, so we assume someone was paying for patrons breakfast today.

Went to Blues this morning about 930am, having missed the morning rush. Plenty of available seating and several waitresses on hand. I was seated immediately and had coffee before me. Placed my order and it came promptly. The western omelette was delicious. My waitress was friendly and checked on me 4 times to see if I needed coffee refill or anything else. I had an omelette, two pieces of toast and two cups of coffee for $12.53. That was a bargain. Looking forward to my next visit! Well done!

Our 1st time at this place and we will definitely be back again! I had the Chicken BLT sandwich and my spouse had the handmade breaded pork tenderloin. My sandwich was pretty good and filling, made with hand breaded chicken tenders, pepperjack cheese and toasted sourdough. My spouse said that his tenderloin was a little on the thin side but its made in house and still had great flavor to it. He also had a complimentary bowl of homemade beef and barley soup, which he also enjoyed. Normally we don't do dessert, but I know that they are known locally for their homemade pies, and after reading their extensive list of pies that was posted on the wall near our table we knew that we couldn't leave without trying one. We shared a HUGE slice of the Homemade peanut Butter silk and that was an awesome choice to top off our meal at Blue's Cafe. One small note, while we did have a wait before we met our waitress, we were really enjoying the photos all over the wall of historic Kankakee and the days of the local bridges being built over the river. I cannot believe it took me so long to try this place, but now I know that it is totally worth a stop!

Everything you would expect from a small American dinner. I don't know if I should boost them or keep them my own little secret. Everything is great the gravy and chicken fried chicken are some of the best I've had. The pancakes are fluffy and remind me of the ones grandma used to make. The hash browns are crisp and just the way I like them. Good atmosphere and friendly staff round it out to be one of our best kept secrets 😆

Solid 5 star restaurant! This place most certainly has the best biscuits and gravy and best steak skillet I've tasted in the area so far. Literally screams everything I love, food wise, about a restaurant. Everything is home made and certainly made to order. The food is so flavorful and tasty, and they offer top quality, American comfort foods. This place definitely deserves Google's Hidden Gem status 💎 My new go to breakfast Cafe- I ordered the steak skillet with a side of gravy and they delivered exactly what I wanted. Can't wait to try that chicken platter I keep seeing pictures of 😋

Traveling through the are and my wife read the reviews and said that we needed to try it out. We love a good breakfast spot, too bad this place is so far away from where we live, I would go here weekly! The cafe is clean and full of old time photos of the area, pretty cool to see. I didn’t take pictures of them as I didn’t want to be rude. Just a cool atmosphere. Now let’s talk about the food. I love a good chicken fried stake and it did not disappoint here, definitely home made (please Don’t tell me if it wasn’t) I had the. Bucked fried stake skillet and it was so delicious! The hash browns were so good! French toast was Amazing! Couldn’t cook it better my self :). My wife had the cinnamon French toast and she said it was so delicious and ate all of it, I didn’t even get a bite. Rude…. Let’s talk about the staff. The staff were very friendly, helpful, attentive, and treated us no different than all the regulars in there. I cannot remember who our server was but the receipt said Ava. Thank you for being so awesome. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves good food and awesome service. Keep up the good work.
